From Luddie343

Well, John, how are you adjusting to the dialysis?  Not as bad as people think, right?  You can still do just about everything you would normally do between treatments.  I think a "permaport" would be great for you, and SO much easier!  When I had my own dialysis treatments, I had TWO shunts on either side in my subclavial artery, and I pulled through fine - I can honestly say the worst of it is just all that fatigue.  You must get very tired, I'm sure, but so many are supporting you and Krissy, we're all praying for the best, plenty of positive energy is headed your way daily.

Love you both, CATHY

Dear Cathy,  I won't go into the whole thing, but John had two pretty bad experiences during his last two dialysis treatments.  If you want to know what they were email me and I will let you know.  Suffice it to say they made him very anxious to go through the next one which is coming up on Tuesday (day after Labor Day).

The doctors plan to put in a permaport some time next week.  While they did say that he was getting better last week, they changed their minds today, came into the room, and said his kidney function was not better.  His creatinin level was 9.1 this morning, up from 7.9 after dialysis, yesterday I think it was.  So they have decided to put the permaport in after all.  They are now saying he may need lifetime dialysis.  If not, they will yank the permaport out.

Everyday is a rollercoaster!  Such ups and downs!  Without you all's support, and the Lord, I don't know what I would do.

Okay, I will try to keep positive.

Love you Cathy :)

Krissy :)
